MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition... Do it!) is a social enterprise that empowers children and adults to lead fitter, healthier and happier lives and to reach or maintain a healthy weight.
Their team of experts, including dietitians, psychologists and physical activity specialists, design programmes and services that people can use throughout their lives to help improve their health, fitness and self-esteem.
MEND's range of healthy lifestyle and weight management programmes for children have been developed in partnership with child health experts at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the University College London’s Institute of Child Health; independent research shows that the MEND 7-13 programme helps children lose weight and improve their fitness and self-esteem.
They also offers class room resources, obesity management training for front-line staff and facilitated self-help programmes for adults.
To date, over 50,000 people have participated in MEND's engaging programmes which are delivered in leisure centres, schools and sports clubs predominantly in the UK, but also in Australia, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Denmark.
