Manchester Carers Forum

 

Manchester Carers Forum act as the voice of carers in Manchester offering support to unpaid carers, through, information provision, signposting, group breaks, developing support groups, leisure and educational activities such as our computer group and our book group. We work with the Local Authority, the NHS and other voluntary and strategy groups to influence policy and strategy relating to carers and the development of services for carers. We are also practitioner educators for the Social Work Programme at the University of Manchester.

Talbot House

 

Talbot House exists to improve the quality of life for parents and families of people with learning disabilities, living in the Manchester area. A user-led drop in centre run by parents for parents, offering advice and information on carer’s rights and benefits, much needed emotional support, access to training, and the chance to relax and regroup in an emotionally supportive environment.

Dundee Carers Centre offers support and information to carers of all ages and disabled people in the Dundee area. Carers Oxfordshire

 

Carers Oxfordshire is a partnership between Oxfordshire County Council’s Customer Service Centre (CSC) and Age UK Oxfordshire (AUKO) established in April 2011 to provide new, integrated information and support service for adult carers of adults in Oxfordshire.

 

 

Derbyshire Carers Association

 

Derbyshire Carers Association recognise that the responsibility of caring for someone who cannot manage at home without help often places great physical and emotional strain upon the Carer. Whether you care for someone for a few hours a week or for 24 hours a day, they can offer a wide range of confidential and independent services, helping you to care.

 

 

Harrow Carers

 

Harrow Carers provides a broad range of support for carers in Harrow including counselling, advocacy, benefits advice, positive psychology sessions, social activities, training and drop-ins. They have a centre where carers can come and join in activities such as IT classes and craft sessions and we have outreach workers who visit carers at home when required. Carers get referred from local GPs, social workers, other carers and self referrals. They also have dedicated support projects for older carers, young carers, mental health carers and BME carers.

 

 

York Carers Centre

 

York Carers Centre helps unpaid carers living, or caring for someone who lives, in York. The Centre offers free advice and information, a Carers Emergency Card scheme, support for carers affected by substance misuse, services for young carers (8 to 18) and young adult carers (18 to 25), regular newsletters, and discounts at local businesses.
